"5 questions to...a patient"

[Back to overview]

Mrs. Glafey, why did you decide on the medizinplus Private Clinic for your treatment?

I read something about medizinplus in the newspaper some time ago, but then thought nothing more about it. Then when I became ill recently, my specialist immediately referred me to the Chief Physician of General Surgery. Since I have private health insurance, I gladly accepted his offer to have myself treated in the private clinic of the Clinic.

Please describe for us, from your own point of view, a day in the medizinplus Private Clinic.

The atmosphere here is very calm and restful. The patients are not disturbed at all. Today I even overslept a little (laughs). Unfortunately I can’t say anything about the breakfast or the meals in general, since I’m not allowed to eat anything at the moment because of my illness. But I did order something to eat for my husband from the service staff when he visited me. He found the food excellent.

In the mornings I usually have various examinations, to which I am accompanied by the staff. Between the examinations I like to take a little stroll through the corridors or solve Sudoku puzzles, provided that I don’t have a visitor.

What I do find pleasant is that the staff here are all very friendly and attentive. They give a great deal of their time and are really helpful – that’s very noticeable. I was also pleased to find that my room is equipped with absolutely everything a woman needs. Since I was admitted as an acute case, I naturally had none of my own things with me. But everything was there in the room, from a bathrobe to the magnifying mirror and all the necessary toiletries – just like a hotel.

What are you looking forward to most following your stay in hospital?

I am looking forward most to my family, particularly my two grandchildren, who unfortunately can’t visit me in the Clinic at the moment because they have colds.

Do you have a favourite flower?

I love poppies, sunflowers and cornflowers. Particularly those fields of flowers that one often sees on Majorca.

If you had one wish left, what would you wish for?

Health for myself and my loved-ones. That’s the most important thing of all.
