The gastroenterology clinic offers diagnosis and conservative respectively endoscopic therapy for diseases of the upper and lower digestive system (oesophagus, stomach, small bowel, large bowel, gall bladder, liver, pancreas). We work together very closely with the abdominal surgery clinic and the pathology and radiology departments in our hospital.
Thanks to our state-of-the-art equipment and extremely experienced team of doctors, high-precision diagnosis and therapy procedures are performed for the whole digestive system.
Our performance statistics for gastroenterological endoscopy are unsurpassed throughout the whole country.

Special areas:

One of the specialities of our clinic is the diagnosis and therapy of bleeding from the digestive system. Together with normal examination methods, we also have further highly advanced equipment (e.g. capsule endoscopy, enteroscopy) to find and treat the causes of bleeding. Another speciality in our clinic is the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the bile duct and pancreas. Thanks to our state-of-the-art equipment, we not only diagnose such disease in our clinic (ERCP, endosonography) but also treat them (e.g. crushing and removing stones in the bile duct/pancreas and fitting endoprosthetic devices).

We are one of Germany's largest centres for the treatment of inflammatory liver disease (hepatitis B, C), working on the basis of the very latest scientific findings. We are involved in all major world-wide studies.

Here at our clinic we devote special attention to nutrition. Several of our colleagues have undergone special training to become nutritional experts.

We are one of Germany's largest Optifast centres for the treatment of the overweight and obesity.

We were one of the first clinics to be successfully certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, and have already successfully passed subsequent audits. These on-going quality assurance measures warrant a high quality of standard in our work.
