The obstetrical clinic (Perinatal Center) is one of the seven largest full-time managed obstetrics clinics in Germany. The clinic handles around 2,300 births a year. Four doctors are present in the clinic, round the clock. Two of these are specialists.
The term ’Perinatal Center unites the specialisms of various disciplines. So our university clinic possesses a specialised intensive care department for ill newborns as well as a paediatric cardiological department and a paediatric surgery clinic. Whenever the Womens Clinic requests, the relevant specially trained specialists are immediately on duty. The same applies to the anaesthesiologic clinic.
- Nursing care for mother and child provided by nurses, paediatric nurses and midwives, even after birth
- 24 hour rooming-in.
- Care for breast-feeding mothers provided by a specially trained specialist (lactation adviser)
