The cranio maxillofacial surgery clinic offers contemporary
methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the
cranio maxillofacial area.
Where necessary, this includes close interdisciplinary cooperation with the
ENT, neurosurgery, paediatric and radiology departments.
The clinic covers all aspects of cranio maxillofacial surgery,
with an emphasis on:
- Restoring mastication functions after the loss of teeth
by restoring the jawbone and using implants
- Primary and secondary treatment of cleft lips, jaws and
palates
- Correction of jaw deformities
- Treatment of cancer in the mouth
- Reconstruction of injuries to the face and cranial bones
- Correction of cranial deformities (with the neurosurgery
clinic)
- Dental surgery for risk patients
Treatment statistics:
- 6,300 treatment days per year
- approx. 2,000 consultation treatments per year
- approx. 1,200 emergency treatments per year
Surgical procedures per year:
- 700 operations under full anaesthetic
- 800 operations under local anaesthetic
